studderning jaws while ripping cd in wmp 10

Until about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I was able to rip a cd without any issues using wmp 10. Now, Whenever I do so, Jaws begins to studder during the ripping process. I can listen to live radio and podcasts through wmp 10 without any problems, but as soon as I begin to rip something Jaws starts to skip. It starts off slowly and increses to the point where trying to use jaws is pointless and I just have to wait for the cd to finish ripping. I am ripping to mp3 format if that means anything.

I would appreciate any observations or suggestions from anyone who might have had this experience as well...

Thanks,
Cristobal

Could be a resource issue, although i haven't ever sceen this happen on anything above 128mb ram.
Try closing down running programs and see if that works. If not, have you installed something that co-insided with the stutering? You might also wanna do spyware and antyvirus scans just to be on the safe side.

resource isn't an issue. I've got over 1 gig of space. Off hand, is there an alternative cd burning software out there?

You need upwoards of a gig of space for xp to run well.
Try doing a disk cleanup and i was talking about the amount of ram you have, which is idfferent to the amount of space you have on your harddrive.

If your problem with windows media player doesn't work, try download winamp.

Go to old version to download winamp, because winamp 5.3 doesn't work with jaws. When the webpages loads, click on winamp, and then click on winamp 5.24.
